Vintage Gold Jewelry
My hubby-to-be and I are going to pick out wedding rings on Saturday.I'm undecided as to what type of gold I want. He definitely wants
white gold for his ring. I wear mainly yellow gold, so I'm leaning in
that direction. But at the same time white gold would be a nice
change for me. And of course there is always platinum.
too many decisions! Any advice
This is as much a personal as a style decision...and one you will live with for
a long time! So make sure to trust your instincts.
A few thoughts:
*Your ring and your husband's do NOT have to match, in metal, style, anything.
Unless you two dress in matching wardrobes, don't worry about it.
*Many jewelers feel a white metal sets off the diamond in the best way (if
yours will have a stone)...but a diamond can be set in white prongs/bezel to
accomplish this, even if the actual ring is yellow.
*If most of your jewelry is yellow gold, that says something about your taste,
coloring, etc. Don't forget that! The wedding professionals, again, often favor
platinum, followed by white gold, but it's your finger!
*Finally, keep an open mind, and have fun trying on all sorts of rings. Also,
there is a color difference between 14 and 18 K gold, as well as all sorts of
colored gold (peach, rose, etc.)
I don't wear much yellow gold so I chose white gold. My husband's ring is a
huge hunk of yellow gold. It suits him, as mine suits me.
